Please Hammer, Don't Hurt 'Em

I saw this fashionista girl at work wearing black harem pants in the office. Pretending she was too legit to quit. Then I got my favorite trashy celeb magazine (Star) yesterday and noticed high-profile celebrities like Gwen Stefani, who actually have stylists are trying to rock the look as well.

Makes me say, "Oh my lord...

Really it was only semi-acceptable in the 90's to wear harem pants because of MC Hammer, but that fad died as quickly with his career, so a decade later there should be no reason that someone would be wearing these baggy, saggy, unflattering pants out in public.

The only exception would be on October 31st and then only if it's all gold & shiny, complete with a pimped out gold boombox....

(Kevin you should totally do it!)

Oh no she didn't.

So I was in the ladies room at work, doing the typical bathroom stuff (honestly this takes up to 30% of my work day, because I have a goal of drinking 3 liters of liquids) and I overheard these two fashion girls chatting by the mirrors about their outfits. Background - we were having a fashion runway/party in the office that afternoon to help celebrate an internal launch, and employees were asked to dress up. As I was washing my hands, I was a little surprised to hear...

"Make sure you wear your head scarf to the side, otherwise you'll look like a cancer patient"

Nice girls, real nice.

Balmain Slashed Army T-shirt

My boyfriend sent me an email last Friday and just said, "I generally like the idea of keeping finances out of a relationship, but you ever try buying something like this for this price and I swear to God…"

I immediately opened the link in his email because:

1. I like to procrastinate actually doing any work
2. I assumed he was over-exaggerating to be a funny guy
3. I didn't have a third reason

But in fact he was right on, a cut up t-shirt that looks like it would be found in a dumpster was selling on the online fashion site Net-A-Porter for an astonishing $1,137.50. Shockingly it was actually on SALE from $1,625 and even SOLD OUT that same day. Holy crap kids! I realize that the military look is back on trend for fall but seriously this one piece of apparel costs almost as much as my monthly rent in Manhattan. That is just redonkulous.

And most definitely a Glam Oops in my opinion...
